You may have heard about the latest start added to the Hollywood Walk of Fame recognizing the accomplishments of actors, actresses, and even directors and other distinguished behind-the-scenes staff. Palm Springs has its own version, right on Palm Canyon Drive.
The walk of stars includes stars dedicated to greats like Bob Hope, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis, Debbie Gibson, Arnold Palmer, General George Patton, presidents Ronald Reagan and Gerald Ford, and others. There are over 400 celebrities – not just Hollywood greats – represented on the strip that runs Palm Canyon Drive between Tahquitz Canyon Way and Museum Drive. You can look up stars to find your favorites by heading to the walk’s website. There you’ll find the star’s name, the year it was awarded, when it was installed, and the location on the walk.
Businesses
It’s the place to find everything you need during your Palm Springs vacation. The street is dotted with businesses including restaurants, a variety of shopping for items like books, apparel, and souvenirs. Visit a museum, night club, or the theater. VillageFest
Aside from shopping, dining, and the Palm Springs Walk of Stars, there is another activity you won’t want to miss. Each week on Thursday night, part of the street is blocked off and closed to vehicle traffic. That’s because they’re setting up and hosting VillageFest.
A number of town vendors set up their booths to sell their goods and get closer to the public. In addition to the booths, many of the businesses along the road keep later hours to attract festivalgoers.
